Additional Services

Occupational therapy, physiotherapy and foot care for seniors and pre-retirees (50+), added to your plan when your assessment points to them.

Some of what an assessment finds is best acted on with a particular kind of hands-on help. Occupational therapy, physiotherapy and foot care are offered as additional services, and they are never chosen in isolation: the team recommends them from your assessment, and they join the same plan as everything else.

What it includes

  • Occupational therapy

Practical help with the everyday tasks that independence depends on, such as bathing, dressing, cooking and moving safely around the home. It follows from the Functional Reserve pillar and from a home safety and function review.

  • Physiotherapy

Strength, balance and mobility work built around what your assessment found. It follows from the Functional Reserve pillar, and supports falls prevention.

  • Foot care

Care for the feet, which affect balance, walking and comfort. It follows from the Functional Reserve pillar, and for people with diabetes it connects to the Metabolic Resilience pillar.

  • Chosen from your assessment

The team recommends an additional service when the assessment shows a need for it, and explains why. You decide what to take up.

What this is not

  • These services are not a way around the assessment. They are recommended from it.
  • They do not provide faster access to MSP-covered services or specialist referrals.
  • They are not emergency care. In an emergency, call 911.

How it is arranged

Additional Services is delivered within a Monarch Health membership, so the clinical plan and the support at home are one arrangement rather than two.

  • Continuum (Long Term Care)

Suggested according to your frailty level and needs

An annual assessment weighted to function and comfort, regular nursing and physician oversight, and someone steering when care becomes several things at once, so that long term care stays one plan.

    What it includes

Publicly insured services remain publicly insured. Where an independently practising physician provides an MSP-insured service, that service is separate from Monarch Health and is billed through MSP in accordance with applicable requirements. Membership fees do not cover or provide priority access to MSP-insured services. Additional services are discussed and priced separately before they are provided.
